Not to be mistaken with the Thruxton R, the new Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RR is the British bikemaker’s latest sporty cafe racer. It is derived from the Speed Triple 1200 RS naked. But there’s more to the RR than just being called a slap-on job. Here’s what @officialtriumph has done differently on the RR:
🔸No bug-eye headlamps, uses a circular LED one like the Bonnies
🔸Gets a half-fairing with a small bubble visor
🔸Lots of carbon fibre elements, including a new side panel and front mudguard
🔸Lowered, more aggressive clip-on bars
🔸Foot pegs pushed further back
🔸Ohlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension
🔸New-gen Pirelli Supercorsa V3 (optional Supercorsa SC2 V3 for track-use only also available)
What it retains from its 1200 RS naked sibling:
🔸1160cc triple
🔸180PS at 10750rpm
🔸125Nm at 9000rpm
🔸IMU-assisted electronic rider aids
🔸Bi-directional quickshifter
🔸Single-sided swingarm with lovely 17-inch cast aluminium wheels
It costs GBP17,950, or roughly Rs 18.33 lakh (without Indian taxes and duties), but that shouldn’t matter as @indiatriumph is not going to bring the bike to India.
